sleepless in chicago

so as of late, i've been chalk full of emotions. not sure how to get them out or who to tell them i decided i'd post my random views on situations from time to time.

tonight i can't sleep, i took a cat nap i didnt even know i was having this evening and ever since then i've been on charge. i haven't been able to sleep the night through for most of the summer and its really starting to take a toll on my moods and actions. my mom sat me down and asked me when was the last time i had had a peaceful sleep, sadly i couldn't remember. we tried to jog my memory and i realized i hadn't been at peace since my father went into the hospital this summer. my father and i have never been close and its always hurt deeply, but i came to the conclusion that i can't make him be the father i wanted for so long(in a perfect world maybe, but perfect and i have never met.) then i started realizing that ever since my father got out the hospital, i haven't heard from him or seen him. the last time i saw my father, my grandma and aunt where in town. it wasn't that we had words or got mad at each other, its just that there are so many years of hurt, anger, and betrayal that i don't know if i'll be able to reach out to him and mean it. i truly do love my father, but like my family over time i've learned that i have to forgive him and love him from a distance. the loving from a distance wouldn't be difficult if he wasnt sick, that way i could put our relationship in the back of my mind. i think if i were the heartless image that i try to project, i could sleep at night. damn...
when loving him wasn't hard...

i could defiantly go for a bag of garrets carmel popcorn. i even told my aunt to give me the biggest drum of the wonderful caramel popcorn. ever since i could remember my aunt mimi would always bring my cousin, brother and sister, and i a bag of garrets popcorn when she would work down town. she would usually get a mix (combination of cheddar cheese popcorn and caramel popcorn) i sat and picked it to only eat the caramel.

Kanye West and Nike Auction Shoes for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

there is no real way you can tell me that these shoes are not the truth... mr. west has teamed up with nike again to auction two pair of one of a kind pairs of air yeezy's. the profit from the sales will go to help Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. the first pair feature an upper black leather with the jordan vi jumpman on the bottom (no other shoe...real shoe that is...will ever have it). the second pair, are the same shoes worn by west to the 50th annual grammy award's.

personally i know there is no way that i would be able to fit or afford these shoes, but hey a girl can dream from time to time.

i love being me, i have the opportunity to meet many people, they are all over the board. today i was able to meet corban kelly aka cee fresco, an up and coming artist and after giving his music a good listen i decided it was time to talk to the man behind the music and get deep(musically that is) and here it goes.....

RTG:so what drew you to music? was there a certain genre(style) or artist who's music(indie or mainstream) inspired and moved you?
CF:Well I always was a fan of hip hop since a child. My sister would play Jay-Z(BluePrint2) in the car ever since then I would start listening to numerous artist, it doesnt matter if they areunderground or mainstream. But Lupe is my number one inspiration his work ethic,sound,lyrics,concepts,punchlines,rhyme schemes, and performances just inspire me to be original and just be a dope artist for what you got to offer


RTG:describe you're sound? honestly, do you hear yourself in alot of the music that's been played in the media?
CF:I think I have more of a hip hop feel but with catchy beats and ill wordplay. Honestly I dont hear myself in some of the music in today's media. But I feel hip hop is making a come back and I will be a good addition to the game because I bring a real soulful feel and I have a message behind everything I write.

RTG:is there a purpose to your music? are you making music for a certain group of people? and if so who?
CF:My music serves the purpose of challenging my audiences mind and to like my music not only because of the beat made by the producer but to also respect the artist who orchestrated the song. I want to be remembered as one of the greatest lyricist when I'm gone. I also just want to express my thoughts I look at the world with a different view and I want everybody to know how I feel. My music is for anybody I will never target my music for one group of people I'm open minded.

RTG:are you trying to reach out to people through your music? does your music make a statement?
CF:Of course I want everybody to know its alright to be yourself and dont become the artist you dont want to be stay true and use your god given talent to the fullest when it comes to artist. Alot of situations in life will be hard to overcome but you have to have faith and never give up thats the main message in my music.

RTG:will you be putting out more music in the future and if so how soon?
CF:Of course I'm currently working on my mixtape'Thinking Out Loud' it will be dropping Mid-October but I will also be dropping single tracks until then.

Tore Up Tuesday : Sexy Drinks

i am not a heavy drinker, but occasionally i will have a drink or two at a social event. i stray far from hard liquors and beers, its nothing against them, i am just not a fan of most of their. personally, my drinks should be the way i like my men: cheap, pretty, and eager to please

Pink Panties:

1 cup Canadian Whiskey
1 cup Water
1/2 container Whipping Cream
1 can (Concentrated) Pink Lemonade
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender with half a cup of crushed ice. Blend until smooth. Serve in a tall glass.
Serve in a Collins Glass


Fuzzy Navels:

3 oz Peach Schnapps
5 oz Peach Juice
3 oz Ginger Ale
DirectionsMix ingredients together, then freeze drink until slushy (usually 2 hours). Serve in highball glass, and enjoy!
Serve in a Highball Glass

Sex On The Beach:

1 oz Vodka
3/4 oz Peach Schnapps
Cranberry Juice
Grapefruit Juice
Directions Add vodka and peach schnapps to a highball glass. Fill with equal measures of cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, and stir.

this drink are perfect for social events or if you're a home alone drunk there is a sweet serenade for the taste buds. i give these recipes two thumbs up and a slightly drunken smile.

andy warhol lives on through the andy warhol foundation. the warhol foundation teamed up with globe trotter to release a line of, Andy Warhol by Hysteric Glamour luggage collection. it consists of many suitcases. my favorite thing about the luggage is the lining of the suitcases:a silver skull print(the infamous warhol skull). the collection will be released on September 16th by Openers.



personally i would love to own one of these suitcases because they would go great with my warhol foundation levi's.....
