Janelle Monae: Here to save the world

Janelle Monáe was born in Kansas City, Kansas, moved to New York to pursue a career in the theatre at the American Musical Academy. Her original plan of life on the stages of Broadway changed and she decided to step into her love for music.

After moving to Atlanta, Ga, Monae met OutKast's Big Boi. She continued to down her own musical and founded the Wondaland Arts Society, a group of artists like herself. from there she would go on to make some appearances on the silverscreen in "Idlewild", she accompanied in the songs "Call The Law" and "In Your Dreams."

In the middle of 2007, Monáe was on her way to release,Metropolis, her first solo album. Her concept was to have a four suites or four part album, and it was to be released to the public via website and mp3 download sites, but when she signed to Bad Boy Records in late 2007, her plans took an about face. "Metropolis: The Chase Suite(Special Edition) debuted on August 12, 2008. Monae's music went over quite well with critics and fans.

Metropolis Suites II and III where supposed to drop in January of this year, but for some reason pushed back. But even with the hold on her music she received a Grammy nomination in the slot of Best Urban/Alternative Performance for her song "Many Moons". Monae is touring with NO DOUBT this summer.

clearly there's no stopping this young woman from her path to musical fame. kudos to you MS Monae for you lively performances, creative abilities, hoping to hear much more music from you.
